From perfumers to warehouse workers, Iberchem counts on the expertise of hundreds of professionals. As part of our special report on India, we are meeting with Dhaval Soni, Senior finance and account manager at our center in Ahmedabad.
Is there any smell that reminds you of your childhood?
I would say the smell of jasmine flowers. Though I was born and raised in Ahmedabad, my family owns a place in the countryside where sometimes I spend my holidays. My parents also used to take me there when I was a child. The smell of jasmine has always been one of my favourites. It reminds me of that house, the garden behind it, and of my grandparents.
Is there anything that you particularly like about working at Iberchem?
One of the things I like the most is to visit the production plant. Every time I go there, it smells something different. Sometimes it can be misleading. For example, you enter the place and it smells like, let’s say strawberries. However, when you look around, all you can see are metallic drums and machinery.
What is your biggest dream?
I aspire to become a renowned and accomplished professional. By the end of my career, I’d like to have done something important. At the same time, I want to stay true to myself. I really admire those who succeed to keep this balance in their life.
And your greatest source of inspiration?
I really look up to my parents. I owe them so much. They have always been there for me, supporting me and giving me some of the best pieces of advice I have received from anyone in my life.
Are there any smells that make you feel good?
I would say the smell of roses. It makes me feel good almost instantaneously. There is something very relaxing and soothing about it.
