Fragrance house Iberchem will offer an “olfactory journey through Spain” at Poble Espanyol during the Barcelona Olfaction Week (BOW) 2026, from May 17 to 24, featuring guided tours and interactive workshops. The experience will remain open to visitors until May 31.

This experience, created by the perfumers at Iberchem using Bearomic technology, invites visitors to discover Spain’s heritage through the most primal sense: smell. Poble Espanyol, home to the country’s largest architectural synthesis, becomes the perfect setting for this olfactory experience.

During the Barcelona Olfaction Week (BOW) 2026, visitors to the Poble Espanyol will be able to enjoy this ambitious olfactory journey, which captures the scent of Spain in eight fragrances, either at their own pace or through guided tours and scented ceramics workshops included in the official programme, all aimed at bringing perfume culture closer to everyone.

  • Self-guided olfactory tour: available daily from May 17 to 31, from 10 am to 8 pm. The olfactory route is included with the general admission ticket. During Barcelona Olfaction Week, visitors can also enjoy a 20% discount through this purchase link.

“This collaboration stems from an unusual connection between Poble Espanyol and perfumery: the historical value of this venue, which served as the filming location for the final scene of Perfume: The Story of a Murderer,” explains María Jesús Gálvez, Communications Officer at Iberchem and coordinator of the project. “This film portrays the origins of the perfumer’s craft, which still remains a mystery to many people today. We couldn’t think of a better way to showcase it during the Barcelona Olfaction Week than through this unique coincidence”.

In the year that Barcelona holds the title of World Capital of Architecture, the Poble Espanyol is embracing innovation so visitors can discover the site’s heritage in a more immersive way. Thanks to this route, heritage is no longer only visual but becomes a unique sensory experience: smell allows visitors to feel the character and identity of the towns that make up this remarkable architectural synthesis.
