Ashish Shinde: “Cosmohome Tech is the leading platform in North India for the Fragrance and HPC industry”

Last month we attended the 9th edition of Cosmohome Tech expo in New Delhi. Cosmohome Tech is without a doubt one of the most important trade shows for fragrances in India as it brings together over 350 exhibitors to present their latest launches across ingredients, formulations, fragrances, packaging, machinery, and labeling. To learn more about this year’s edition, we sat down with Ashish Shinde, General Manager of Iberchem India.

1. How did you find the 2023 edition of Cosmohome Tech?

This year’s Cosmohome Tech was a successful event for us as we reunited with our current customers and welcomed new clients. This is a premier event for the HPC industry in the buzzing region of North India which is a major hub for existing players, indie brands, and new entrants into the industry. The three-day format, in my opinion, was a good choice allowing for quality conversation and discussion time with attendees. As we gradually move beyond COVID-19, industry participants are eager to meet face-to-face and this event is an industry-leading platform for these interactions.   

2. What was the highlight of the show?  

A key highlight of the show was having an extended fragrance section which is brand new in this edition of Cosmohome Tech, carving out a niche for fragrance companies to exhibit. Iberchem and Croda had the added advantage of having both teams present at the same event thus strengthening our “one-stop shop” solution approach for our valuable customers. It was exciting to showcase Croda formulations that incorporate Iberchem fragrances across personal care and home care applications.  

3. What did Iberchem present at Cosmohome Tech?  

Our Iberchem concept was focused on “Smells like home” built around a beautiful notion of various fragrance applications within a typical household from the living room, dining room, bathroom, etc. The booth was visually very attractive and appreciated by customers and visitors who enjoyed the concept of feeling at home while exploring the various fragrance creations on display. Our team exhibited fragrances for all categories covering Fine fragrances, Personal care, Personal Wash, Home care & Fabric care categories from our new, current, and some special creations inspired by the “Viva Magenta” concept. 

4. Did you notice any new trends during the show?  

Across all categories, the common trends were directed toward sustainability, naturality, and wellness. These trends were built around unique differentiating concepts targeted at specific audiences e.g., gamers, intimate care concepts (particularly in personal care), etc.

5. What is the outlook for Iberchem India for the remainder of the year?

Iberchem India continues making substantial progress towards our goal of being the premier fragrance house among the 1.5th tier of industry, across all categories. We’re focused on nurturing our young aspirational population, increasing disposable/per capita incomes supported by a growing manufacturing/infrastructure support to offer tremendous opportunity for FMCG and related industries. We are confident in achieving our aspirations through the support of our global team to deliver innovative solutions to our customers.
