The Spain Pavilion will celebrate the sense of smell by including various olfactory experiences in its installations thanks to Iberchem
The whole team at Iberchem is thrilled to be giving a voice to the fragrance industry at the Dubai World Expo by adding an olfactory dimension to the Spain Pavilion. From October 2021 to March 2022, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the Iberian Peninsula using their sense of smell. You are invited to take the largest olfactory journey in the history of the Spain Pavilion. A once-in-a-lifetime experience. Using the sense of smell, discover the dense forests of the north, the vineyards of La Rioja, the Mediterranean coast of the East, or the Arabic heritage of Andalusia.
An Olfactory Journey
While exploring the Spain Pavilion, visitors will get to discover different scents specific to Spain’s geography. For instance, the main exhibition hall, named “The Forest of Intelligence”, will boast a fragrance that recalls the northern woods of the Iberian Peninsula, while the access ramps will smell of the Pavilion’s official perfume. A few steps further on, the Al-Andalus area will reveal a scent inspired by the blooming gardens of the Generalife. The olfactory journey will continue in additional private areas of the Pavilion, such as the VIP and press rooms, which will also present surprising olfactory concepts that represent Spanish culture.

Luz Vaquero, Head Perfumer at Iberchem, created the exclusive perfume for the Spain Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai. The unisex fragrance opens with top notes of lemon and orange. It then reveals soft accords of lavender and grapes. The composition ends on a warm melody of musk, giving an oriental twist to the fragrance. This not only celebrates the culture of the Middle East where the Expo is taking place, but also highlights the Arabic heritage that can be found across Spain.
