A fragrance house established in Grasse in 1985, Parfex creates and produces fragrances for fine perfumery, body care, and home products. Since 2021, it has been a sister company of Iberchem within Croda’s Fragrance and Flavour division.
Parfex relies on a diverse team that includes perfumers, marketing experts, and evaluation specialists, alongside analytical, application, and sensory analysts to create and test high-quality perfumes. In 2024, Parfex inaugurated a new research and development center covering more than 3,000 square meters, equipped with the latest technology in the industry.
Its strategy employs a high level of creativity combined with the advanced skills of a dynamic and passionate team. With recognized expertise in the personal care and cosmetics sectors, the company supplies renowned brands and sells its fragrances in over 50 countries worldwide.
Parfex is headquartered in Grasse, a town located in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of southeastern France. It’s often referred to as the perfume capital of the world due to its long-standing tradition of perfume production and its role in shaping the global fragrance industry.
Grasse’s connection to perfume began in the 16th century when the town started to specialize in cultivating flowers used in perfume-making, such as jasmine, rose, tuberose, and violet. The region’s mild climate and fertile soil make it ideal for growing these fragrant flowers. Over the years, Grasse has become home to many of the world’s most prestigious perfume houses, including Fragonard, Molinard, and Galimard.
Grasse is also home to the International Perfume Museum, which focuses on the history of perfumery. The museum highlights the evolution of perfume-making techniques, the history of various fragrances, and the cultural importance of perfumes. It is an excellent destination for those interested in the art and science of scent.
