Safety First – Iberchem Receives Certification for Health and Safety Program
At Iberchem, the health and safety of our employees is of utmost importance. Our health and safety program ensures that we are constantly on the lookout for any safety issues that may occur in our facilities, helping us in taking all possible measures to prevent them from happening.
We also believe that employees themselves play a key role in preventing work-related injuries. This is why we make sure that our staff members are aware of the hazards in their workplace by organizing training sessions and placing at their disposal all the necessary tools and equipment to keep them safe.
Last month, it was our pleasure to see all our efforts being recognized by Ibermutuamur, a national mutual insurance company affiliated with Spain’s national Social Security ministry. Mr José Manuel Frutos, Health and Safety Manager at Iberchem, was present at the award ceremony to receive the certificate on behalf of the company.
Over the past year, Ibermutuamur has recognized the work of 103 companies of the Region of Murcia which have made significant investments in risk prevention, taken effective actions in health and safety and recorded lower accident ratios compared with the average of their sector. At a national scale, 779 companies have obtained this recognition during the last campaign.
Last February, Iberchem also received the OHSAS 18001:2007 certificate attested by AENOR. The OHSAS 1800:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management Certification is an international standard which provides a framework to identify, control and decrease the risks associated with health and safety within the workplace. Companies who implement the standard send a clear signal that they view their employee’s health and safety as a priority within their organization.
